A long lens in Africa is a collection of our bird images from our frequent travels to the beguiling continent that is Africa. This revised edition adds 69 new species from the Masai Mara, Amboseli and the Serengeti taken in February and March of 2017. It now includes photographs of 255 bird species from Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe.
The majority of the images have been taken with a prime 600mm lens and a 200-560mm zoom lens. These lenses are unwieldy, cumbersome and a pain to travel with but deliver great results with birds.
Thank you to Andre Cloete, co-founder of C4 Photo Safaris for his expert advice. Andre corrected some errors in the earlier edition and travelled with us during February and March of 2017.
